How about a Raincoat?

Fall is here. It sure is. I had to turn the heat on the other morning, and for me, that alone is a sign of autumn coming; colder days, rain, mud and all the fun stuff to come.

Are you ready? Do you have a nice pair of boots and a raincoat?

For me, a raincoat is no fun. It can’t be functional, elegant, funky or chic enough, all at the same time. Even when you want to feel totally dressed up and show it off, the raincoat will work against you. It will cover you up.

Unless you are wearing one of these see-through UNDERBODY designs, as Naida, of SHE:YOU calls it. The concept of the UNDERBODY raincoats is not about a raincoat, but about a non-verbal communication, the way we use our body, and everything that comes with it, to communicate.

“Our body is a communication medium and the first visual layer of this, is our clothes. Body language, even plastic surgery and tattoos are other layers trying to tell the story.” Naida says.

There are four different concepts to this collection: Body Language, Body Building, Body Mark and Body Guard.

The Body Language raincoat has “power” words like beauty, divine, and angel written all over it. Overusing these words, their real meaning is lost.

The Body Building raincoat has a built in stir foam for the privates, exaggerating them to make us more attractive.

The Body Mark raincoat has black marks and from the inside of it there is a soft fur. We are choosing what we are showing to the public and what we are hiding.

The Body Guard censors the body and hides it from the public. It imposes many questions. Are we ashamed of our bodies? Are clothes there to hide it or to represent our personality?

And I thought it was about a raincoat.

P.S. All the pieces from this collection are conceptual in nature and are not intended for commercial sale. How do you communicate? How do you use your clothing, and other body prompts to enhance your life?

By the way, are you ready for a Fall?
